Minutes of a meeting of the Parish Council, which took place on Monday 13 December 2010.

A report had been received from the PCSO, stating that there had not been any crimes reported in the village during November. Ongoing anti-social behaviour is being investigated, and parked vehicles are being checked for valuables left on display, in which case owners will be contacted.
The minutes of the previous meeting were confirmed and signed.
No interests were declared.
Mr Ronaldson spoke of the recent inspection by the Street Scene Department, noting various highway work required. Following the closure of Chicago Rock Cafe in Yeovil, Mr Ronaldson advised that Club Neo in Starts Lane will be running the Under 18s Club on Wednesday evenings.
Mrs Larpent spoke about the County Council debt and said that at the last public meeting more than £43,000,000 of proposed savings and cuts to council services were approved, affecting areas such as arts funding, road repairs, recycling centres, bus subsidies, libraries and adult social care.

The recent village market was a success and the Events Team are now planning a Party on 29 January 2011 to raise funds for the Village Hall.
Cllr Cripps said the planting at Cowleaze had been postponed until the weather improves.
Mr Robathan had passed on an email he had received from the District Council Solicitor concerning extending the Recreation Field Lease and copies of this will be circulated with the Parish Council Minutes for discussion at the next meeting.
Cllr Walshe reported that the closing date for tenders for Phase 1 (Children’s Play Area) is 22 December and it is hoped that work will start in February. The Groundworks Application for funding for Phase 2 was unsuccessful.
The majority of parishes within the scheme did not agree to purchasing a joint mower for the Lengthsman’s use but Chris Cooper suggested it may be possible to borrow District Council equipment. Alternatively, Cllr Cripps said the Cowleaze Committee may be applying for a grant for equipment and, if successful, this could possibly be for community use.
The Parish Councillors were pleased to see the resurfacing of Lambrook Road taking place.
